New Consensus Document Embraces Patient-Centered Approach to Atrial Fibrillation was published in the September 2015 issue of EP Lab Digest. The article celebrates a recent breakthrough in the way AF patients and healthcare providers can interact in the future.

Healthcare providers from around the world created and endorsed a patient-centered view of the management of atrial fibrillation, which is important because patients with afib are often highly symptomatic and the psychological impact can be significant. One huge step forward is that patients and patient organizations worked alongside doctors and nurses to develop this groundbreaking consensus statement. As an AF patient and founder of StopAfib.org, Mellanie True Hills was privileged to be a co-author of this document.

This statement identified patients’ preferences and gaps in knowledge to inform treatment and future research.
