- Summary: The VICTORY AF trial will study Medtronic’s Phased Radiofrequency (RF) system for catheter ablation of persistent and longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation
- Reading time: 1–2 minutes
The VICTORY AF (Evaluation of Multielectrode Phased RF Technology in Persistent AF)Trial, sponsored by Medtronic, is studying patients undergoing a catheter ablation with Medtronic’s Phased Radiofrequency (RF) system.
Forty centers throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe will participate to enroll up to 350 symptomatic patients with persistent or longstanding persistent AF for whom medication has not been effective. The study will evaluate the safety of this system and collect effectiveness data.
The Medtronic Phased RF System is currently approved for use in areas of Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Canada, with more than 20,000 patients in 26 countries having been treated with this system since January 2009.
