I had Cryo-ablation July 29th on Amiodarone 200 mg daily. I’ve had five short episodes of A-fib lasting 24 hours +- it has been over 3 months and still have hiccups like this. My EP told me nothing on the follow-up just smiled and said “see you July 2014” Should he not care about no progress or typical progress? Would it not be better to redo the ablation since I understand they are more successful with ablation 2. To me, waiting until July to determine a good or bad ablation is unprofessional. Would it not be better to do another ablation to fix these frequent occurrences?
Hi Peter. It takes 3-6 months after an ablation for an inflamed heart to heal, but it’s normal for the doctor to follow your progress to make sure you are healing properly. Is there any reason not to discuss your concerns with your doctor to see if there should be something else done sooner?
