Caution For Those With Atrial Fibrillation Related to Sleep Apnea
I had an atrial fibrillation episode 2007ish, I have since been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea I have a Bipap respirator but I’m struggling to sleep with it at the moment. which is causing me to stress myself. I have just been told I am Hyper-ventilating while I sleep, am I in danger of of another Atrial Fibrillation attack. or worse. I don’t feel that anyone wants to seriously help me, my GP is treating my high BP but thinks my stress is the phsycological effects of Apnea he also thinks my sleep clinic should be dealing with stress problem but the sleep clinic say that he should treat me, because they have my apnea under control. I’m left feeling very fragile at the moment and to be honest I’m scared.
People having atrial fibrillation problem have been observed to be having obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) at the same time. Such people generally face the problem of frequent stoppage of normal breathing while they sleep. Among the obese adults this type of occurrence has been found to be even more than 40%.
Treatment of such types of cardio-vascular disorders should preferably also include the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Many of the research studies conducted also clearly indicate that proper sleep apnea treatment could help a person in reducing the overall risk of atrial fibrillation’s re-occurrence.
