If current from the pulmonary veins (97%) and vena cava account for almost all of atrial fibrilation, shouldn’t there be some serious research attention paid to the build up and flow of that current/charges in the vein and vena cava structures themselves. Some thought might be given to the appropriate bio-electrical fabric surrounds or attachments to those structures – outside the atria – to dissipate that current/those charges.

There is a lot of research ongoing into the electrical currents related to afib, including after depolarizations.
