Each month, the Embrace Your Heartä Wellness Initiative presents a teleconference addressing a specific challenge faced by women living with heart disease. The result: a wealth of information to share and a monthly publication.
The latest issue focuses on Women Living with Atrial Fibrillation and includes the following stories:
- Do You Have Afib?
- What Trips Your Trigger?
- Exploring Treatment Options
- Are You Just a Hysterical Female? The emotional toll of atrial fibrillation.
- To Broccoli or Not To Broccoli…Managing Your INR
- Stressed or Stroke?
- Catheter and Surgical Ablation
- Go Buy A New Bra! …and other things a woman should do before heart surgery.
“Having the opportunity to share our experiences and challenges is empowering. Providing the information to other patients and to healthcare providers will make a difference in the day-to-day quality of life for women living with heart disease,” says Eliz Greene, the Director of the Embrace Your Heartä Wellness Initiative and host of the Patient’s Perspective. Eliz Greene survived a heart attack at age 35 while seven months pregnant with twins.
The Patient’s Perspective Panel includes Mellanie True Hills, a heart disease survivor, author of A Woman’s Guide to Saving Her Own Life: The HEART Program for Health & Longevity, and Founder & CEO of the American Foundation for Women’s Health and the StopAfib.org atrial fibrillation patient’s resource.
